This is a writing course, as opposed to a drawing course. It’s designed to aid prospective cartoonists in the process of developing a personal method for creating gag ideas for cartoons. The course requires reading, research and writing. The focus of the course is on unlocking and using the imagination and expressing amusing ideas (gags) in written form. The end products should be the basis for successful gag cartoons or visual communications. They might also furnish the basis for other kinds of written humor and/or stand-up comedy.
