The contemporary political cartoonist holds a special place in the news media and visual communications. They draw their opinions rather than write them in columns. This course is designed to accommodate students who feel compelled to express themselves in this manner. Students should have completed level 1 courses or more, or have advanced placement credit and feel comfortable using pen and ink. Many find the level 1, Introduction to Caricature104 course a useful prerequisite for this course. Lessons include practical exercises in developing ideas and translating them through necessary graphic steps into final art for publication.
